4 reason to visit Thailand by Laura the Explorer …
… as if you needed 4 more reasons!
1. The food
My love of food is probably one of the reasons I love traveling so much, I love getting somewhere or walking up to a random street vendor or into a restaurant packed full of locals and blindly pointing at random dishes having no idea what I’m eating. Of course this can and has gone very wrong at some points but most of the time you end up with a delicious meal! Thailand is no exception and after spending more than a year here, I still discover new foods at least once a week. I love it; the food here is so packed full of flavour and all just from a few ingredients.

2. The price
Yes its cheap, it’s really really cheap! But the cheapness isn’t really the point it’s the fact that this cheapness allows you to do anything you want. Everything is here, everything is accessible and nothing costs a lot. So you can spend a week’s wages here that back home wouldn’t get you further than a couple of nights out and a trip to the cinema, living out your dreams, riding elephants, Jet skiing, meeting tigers, white water rafting, lazing on beaches. You name it you can afford to do it!
3. The people
Never have a met such smiley happy people, you’ve heard the horror stories of people getting ripped off in Bangkok but realistically it’s a relatively low portion of Thai’s that are happy to do this. Most Thai will without pausing for thought attempt to help you, whether its grabbing your arm and marching you across an intersection or translating from English to Thai for you at the shop or even giving friendly advice not to follow the conning ticket touts outside a major attraction. There just plain nice people!

4. The Sunshine
(Im a brit, of course I had to get the weather in here somewhere!) So Thai weather is amazing, coming from the UK it’s a godsend. No more gloves, hat and scarf, no more shivering just pure all year long heat. Maybe it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I don’t half love it! Even in the rainy season, its sunny and warm all morning and then thundering, wet and humid in the afternoons… I can live with that!
